2010 June 28 Engagement Lunch for Des & John

Willow Glen in San Jose, CA. Bill's Cafe, engagement lunch for cousin Des and John. went with the 10-22mm and a 580ex II. the food here is great as always. when shooting this engagement lunch, i wasn't pressuredat all. it's mostly friends or relatives of the bride who attended, so it was very relaxed. it was a busy sunday and there were a lot of customers so it was loud, but we did enjoy ourselves. ended up going close and personal with the shots. i like the wide angle view and it works for every event i've shot. going wide just helps immerse the viewer in what is happening. i couldn't around much either so again it works in that situation (i was eating =))

    

Hey It's Patty! Again!

Couldn't wait any longer, had to try to get another shot of Patty. As Always she did great. Did outdoor shots with bare Elinchrom Quadra a-head. 50mm 1.4 and 24-70mm =)

Today had fun shooting my friend and coworker Patty! Beautiful Mexican woman and great model for me that day. I worked on some portraiture using speedlite and a large reflector for background.





We also did a few shots outside, natural light from behind left and use of speedlite in softbox.

i'm happy to announce that i finally got my new DSLR!! i actually got
it 10/15 but i've just been excited to use it especially in Vegas where
we went the weekend i got it!

FISHING: Los Banos / Santa Cruz Area / Municipal Wharf & Seacliff Wharf

all right! gone fishing two sundays in a row with relatives. haven't been fishing in a LONG time, i think the last time i went was near Los Banos, CA reservoir about 2005.

i picked up two rods at local WalMart. 1 Ugly Stik and Shakespeare Alpha Reel. the other rod was a Shakespeare Tiger Spinning Combo, both rods are great!

on to the fishing! well i was just excited to go fishing, but yes we did catch something just nothing edible . yea everything was too small like shiners, baby crabs, anchovies, small surfperch, and the annoying bullheads! at seacliff i probably caught 12 bullheads, yuck!

we're gonna try again near the end of the month. we had tried at the very end of the piers for fishing. after a little of research i found that most of the fish were around mid-pier or just past the breakers, can't wait!

GAMING: Juiced up and ready to go??

OH NO THEY DIDN'T! as a casual browser or 'googler', i came upon some
interesting news via MaximumPC.com which peaked my interest. they had
an article about professional gaming and the subject of players doping.
pfft, tssk, hahaha! dang, some people just take things too seriously!.
professional gaming is exactly what it says,
-p-r-o-f-e-s-s-i-o-n-a-l--g-a-m-i-n-g-. to me it's a recreational
activity spiced up with gambling. it's not a sport. sheesh, you just
sit there and use your hand to press buttons and move a plastic mouse
around. it's like sitting with someone to play battleship and say "hey,
i'll bet you 200 bucks i win." is that a sport?



yes, the
winnings are greater than $200. some winnings going over half a
million, but to have people tested or banned for taking stimulus drugs
while playing is just absurd. whoever spoke up about it was just
someone who got beaten on some game and was pissed off because the
person who beat him smoked one too many joints. can't he just maybe
umm, practice, practice, and try a little harder next time? he was
sober and clear headed. maybe he just SUCKED!
